Atlas at a glance

Atlas Renewable Energy was founded in 2017 by a team of executives with an exceptional track record in pioneering numerous global renewable energy projects and industry trends. Initially supported by the Actis Group - its largest investment to date - Atlas quickly became Latin America's largest privately-owned renewables independent power producer (IPP) and one of the world's fastest-growing renewable energy companies. Today, the company is backed by Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a leading infrastructure fund manager with a renewable energy portfolio of over 19 GW of operating and construction capacity worldwide. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, Atlas adheres to rigorous standards in the development, construction, and operation of large-scale renewable energy projects across all regions of operation. Currently, the company boasts one of the largest fleets of renewable energy projects in the Americas with an asset base of more than 8.4 GW, of which 3.6 GW are operational and 3.2 GW are in advanced development or construction stages.

Our pillars of expertise

Energy Commercialization

Our comprehensive understanding of the market allows us to structure deals and opportunities with bankable long-term, stable contracts backed by credit-worthy sponsors. The result: Atlas has a track record of more than 5.6 GW of renewable energy projects with some of the largest and most prestigious companies operating in Latin America. We were the first company to provide bilateral solar PV PPAs to private markets without subsidies in LatAm. In 2020, we were the #1 developer for private offtakers in the region and #6 worldwide.

Capital Structuring

Backed by robust investment from our sponsor GIP and leveraging our long-term relationships with leading financial institutions, we’ve raised over $5 billion USD in credit products from over a dozen banks around the globe including IDB Invest, OPIC, IFC, DNB Markets, Itaú, Santander, Bradesco, Banco Nordeste de Brasil, BanBras, and HSBC. Atlas tailors capital solutions for each project using traditional project finance, capital markets, mezzanine, and other non-traditional financing structures to ensure competitiveness.

Asset Growth

From early-stage development to full-scale construction, our Asset Growth team oversees the complete lifecycle of renewable energy projects—ensuring they’re designed for impact and built for performance.

With a 10 GW pipeline and nearly 2.7 GW already delivered across Latin America, we combine technical innovation with execution excellence. Our engineers integrate advanced technologies like BESS, bifacial modules, and digital substations from day one, while our construction experts work with trusted partners to deliver on time, on budget, and with strong community and environmental stewardship.

By uniting development and execution under one team, we streamline delivery, reduce risk, and bring renewable energy online—faster and smarter.
