The contract with Rede Primavera Saúde in Sergipe is the first of its kind in Brazil to serve the healthcare sector. It sets a precedent for companies with various energy consumption profiles to begin their energy transition.

SÃO PAULO, SEPTEMBER 2, 2024 – Atlas Renewable Energy, an international leader in clean energy with operations in Latin America and Europe, is introducing an innovative approach to Brazil’s electricity sector through a partnership with Rede Primavera Saúde, which operates two hospitals and six polyclinics in the state of Sergipe in Brazil.

Starting in 2026, Rede Primavera Saúde will receive electricity from renewable sources under this agreement, marking Atlas Renewable Energy’s first venture into the hospital sector and expanding its presence in hospital, laboratory, and diagnostics industries.

The 10-year self-production agreement contemplates the supply of energy, which will allow savings of approximately 40% compared to current costs in the free energy market and will offer greater predictability to the client. The agreement plans to reduce CO₂ emissions from the hospital network by approximately 260 tons per year.

The hospital network is among the many energy consumers that require cost predictability to enhance operational efficiency, reduce expenses, and improve sustainable performance. By acquiring energy from renewable sources, they can achieve these goals effectively. Additionally, this agreement will contribute to a new clean energy project within the Brazilian energy matrix, specifically designed to meet the needs of these consumers. Atlas aims to provide competitive solutions for all economic sectors, facilitating a sustainable energy transition.

“Atlas’ purpose is to accelerate the energy transition in a sustainable way and assist consumers in their decarbonization journey. This new contract showcases Atlas’ leadership in offering tailored solutions for customers with specific needs across all sectors, providing savings and predictability,” said Fabio Bortoluzo, country manager for Atlas Renewable Energy in Brazil.

By doing so, the company expands its portfolio of clean energy solutions for those aiming for an energy transition and decarbonization goals. Atlas customizes its solutions to meet the needs of companies with varying energy consumption profiles, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future.

The agreement is subject to certain conditions, including approval from regulatory authorities.
